Children's Lighthouse
Olathe, KS
With its first location in Kansas, Children’s Lighthouse is now open for business! PEI worked closely with the developer, architect and general contractor to deliver a turn-key project. The building is 10,600 sq. ft. on 1.6 acres. PEI’s responsibilities included entitlement and permitting, platting (lot-split), preparing civil site construction documents, and support during construction.
Walmart Supercenter
Shawnee, KS
PEI has completed several new and remodel store projects for Walmart Stores, Inc. This store in Shawnee, KS is located in the Grey Oaks Commercial Center near Johnson Drive and K-7 Highway. PEI was the lead consultant for all sitework design and worked closely with Walmart's architect to coordinate a custom design for this project that met the City’s requirements for new commercial development. PEI’s lead responsibilities included site entitlement and permitting, preparing civil site construction documents, coordinating with Johnson County Wastewater (JCW) on a sewer main relocation, public involvement, and support during construction.
A critical design component of this project was to incorporate post-construction stormwater treatment into the project design. The site incorporated bio-retention basins and curb inlet filters to meet the MARC manual level of service (LOS) requirements.
Casey's General Stores

PEI proudly serves Casey’s General Stores by providing civil engineering and surveying services for their new facilities in Kansas and Missouri. PEI has completed multiple new Casey’s Stores in rural and urban areas since beginning work for this client in 2009. PEI’s responsibilities included site entitlement and permitting, preparing civil site construction documents and off-site improvements, coordinating driveway permitting with the local DOT’s, public involvement, and support during construction.

PEI proudly serves McDonald’s Stores by providing civil engineering and surveying services for their new facilities in Kansas and Missouri. PEI has completed several new McDonald’s Stores since beginning work for this client in 2011. PEI’s responsibilities included site entitlement and permitting, preparing civil site construction documents and off-site improvements, coordinating driveway permitting with the local DOT’s, public involvement, and support during construction.

Tractor Supply
Olathe, KS
Working for the master developer and building owner, PEI completed civil site work design and surveying for a new Tractor Supply Store near 159th Street and US 169 in Olathe, KS. PEI’s responsibilities included site entitlement and permitting, preparing civil site construction documents and two sets of turn lane plans, coordinating driveway permitting with Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), public involvement, and support during construction.
A critical design component of this project included working closely with the Owner, City and KDOT to secure a break in controlled access on US 169 for a full access driveway. This driveway on US 169 was critical to allow customers to access the new store and key in the project moving forward.
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

PEI has proudly completed civil engineering and surveying services for two new Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburger facilities in Overland Park, KS and in Lee’s Summit, MO. PEI’s responsibilities included site entitlement and permitting, preparing civil site construction documents and off-site improvements, coordinating driveway permitting with the City and local DOT’s, public involvement, and support during construction.
