AMC World Headquarters
PEI proudly served as the civil engineer and land surveyor for AMC’s new world headquarters office building in Park Place, Leawood, KS. This three-story, 135,000 square foot office building site included a four level parking garage that holds 566 spaces. The site has a front door pedestrian auto court that was designed to accommodate occasional semi-truck deliveries and a future hotel. PEI engineers assisted with City entitlement approvals, prepared final construction site plans, public improvement turn lane plans, final platting, permitting coordination, construction survey staking and construction services for this 3.5 acre urban site.
A critical design component of this project included incorporating post construction stormwater treatment (BMP’s) into the site design, yet maintaining the feel of the existing landscape already established at Park Place. A rain garden for the AMC building was incorporated into the design of the site, along with a rock infiltration trench for the parking garage.
One of the first office buildings to be built in the Corporate Ridge Office Park in Olathe, Kansas, this multi-story, 74,000 square foot, three story office building was built for the National Board of Respiratory Care headquarters. PEI engineers completed entitlement approvals with the City and prepared final construction site plans, public improvement water line and sanitary sewer plans, construction survey staking and final platting for this 8 acre site.
A critical design component of this project was to create a balanced grading plan that provided an ADA accessible entrance to the building from the public street. In addition, this site is highly visible from traffic using K10 highway, so care was taken to provide site grading that featured the aesthetic components of the building, while screening loading and parking lot areas.
CapitalOne / US Bank
Overland Park, KS
Located in the Southcreek Office Park in Overland Park, Kansas, this five story office building was designed for a complete build out of 240,000 square feet, including a multilevel parking deck. PEI prepared the preliminary development plans, platting, stormwater management plan, floodplain analysis, final development plans, utility coordination and final construction plans for the first phase of the building, parking deck and site parking lot.
Corporate Ridge Buildings I & II
Located in the Corporate Ridge Office Park in Olathe, Kansas, PEI completed designs for two three story office buildings. CR I was completed for a national call center client as a single tenant 90,000 sf. buliding. CR II is a three-story, 120,000 square foot office building and was designed for a multi-tenant lease, including an underground parking garage for executives. PEI engineers prepared final construction site plans, public improvement water line plans, and final platting for both projects as separage phases.
A critical design component of this project was to revise the construction plans to add an additional parking lot when the project was nearing completion to suit a new tenant. PEI worked closely with OPUS and the City of Olathe to make plan changes and gain entitlement approvals to permit the parking lot addition to meet the tenant’s requirements.
Corporate Ridge Building III
Building III-Farmer's Insurance
Located in the Corporate Ridge Office Park in Olathe, Kansas, this two-story, 104,000 square foot office building site was designed for Farmer’s Insurance Group. PEI engineers prepared final construction site plans, public improvement water line plans, and final platting for this 9 acre site.
A critical design component of this project was to design the private access road on the east side of the site and associated utilities that needed to be brought through a future site to work with the development plan for the future site to the east.
Southcreek Office Park
Overland Park, KS
Southcreek Office Park is a master planned office park in a well landscaped, campus style setting. Located in the heart of Overland Park near 135th and Metcalf, Southcreek provides over 1,000,000 square feet of office space in 21 buildings. Since the beginning of Southcreek in 1993, PEI has been retained by Dean Development, Inc. to provide professional land surveying and civil engineering for all phases of this development. PEI’s services have included preliminary plan and platting, development plans, final platting, civil-site construction plans, watershed modeling and floodplain analysis, utility coordination, and municipal engineering for the public streets and sanitary sewers serving the development. A critical design component of the preliminary park planning included careful consideration into incorporating existing trees and other natural site features into the office park plan.
