Heartland Rehabilitation Hospital

PEI provided land surveying and civil engineering design for a new 45 bed, 55,000 sq. ft. physical rehabilitation hospital. Work included site planning, entitlement, surveying, civil engineering site design, permitting, utility coordination, and construction staking. Challenges included site grading as the existing 4.3 acre site had 40 feet of vertical change from one corner of the site to the other. Retaining walls were carefully designed to balance the requirements of the site layout with earthwork grading and save a mature 42-inch Oak tree.
Advanced Healthcare
Overland Park, KS
PEI provided land surveying and civil engineering design for a new 38 bed, 29,000 sq. ft. physical rehabilitation center. The project is located in Highlands Village along Indian Creek Parkway. A new walking trail is connected to the project which provides access to over 13 miles of City trails. PEI's work included site planning, entitlement, surveying, civil engineering site design, utility coordination, and construction staking.
Advanced Healthcare
Merriam, KS
Shortly after the Overland Park site was under construction, PEI began designs and entitlements for a second location for Advanced Healthcare in Merriam, Kansas. This project will also include a new 38 bed, 29,000 sq. ft. physical rehabilitation center. Located on a former elemetary school site, the design had to be integrated into the existing topography and available utilities, while preserving natural resources including mature trees on the west side of the building. PEI has completed the initial entitlement of this project and is now working towards construction documents and permitting. Groundbreaking is expected later this year.
